ABSTRACT

In a previous study1) proton-gamma ray angular correlations (PGAC) were studied for the 28Si(d,pγ)29Si(5/2+,2.03 MeV) reaction at particle scattering angles near the stripping peak. The correlations were found to be sensitive to the excited core configurations existing in the state populated by the reaction. However in that study some questions still remained. Thus we have performed the 28Si(a,pγ) reaction to try to resolve these ambiguities. Here we present results for two of the 29Si levels examined. More... »
