ABSTRACT

Cross section and vector analysing power (VAP) distributions have been measured over an extended angular range for the three lowest-lying states of 12C in the 14N(d,α) 12C reaction at 15 MeV, for two low-lying states of 14N populated in the 16O (d,α) 14N reaction at 16 MeV and for six particle groups populated in the 28Si(d,α) 26A1 reaction at 16 MeV. The measurements were made to investigate deuteron-cluster pickup in the reaction and to determine whether the VAP distributions carry information concerning the value of the total angular momentum transfer.
