ABSTRACT

This research is focused on the formulation, analysis, and implementation of a new direct solver based on the block backward differentiation formula with off-step points for directly solving second order stiff differential equations. The lower triangular form of the matrix transformation provided fewer differential coefficients, caused the algorithm’s implementation at ease since less execution time is needed. The proposed method is tested with the standard second order stiff problems used in the literature. The numerical output upholds the algorithm as an alternative solver for the stiff second order differential equation. More... »
