ABSTRACT

Immersive media has received significant research interest over the last few years. As technologies have advanced dramatically in the past years, telecommunication networks can support immersive remote interaction similar to the face-to-face experience. Using immersive three-dimensional (3D) communication services, the users would look and feel as if they are physically at the same place. However, the delivery of live high-quality 3D multi-view video (MVV) to consumers remains a demanding challenge that needs efficient video coding, delivering mechanisms, and utilization of network resources [1].
