ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on five types of neurologically based communicative disorders: dysarthria, apraxia, aphasia, traumatic brain injury, and dysphagia. Apraxia and dysarthria are motor speech disorders that affect expressive speech abilities. Aphasia is characterized by expressive and/or receptive language impairment.
