ABSTRACT

Aphasic people will commonly experience aphasia services as one of a plethora of services, both over a period of time and at a particular point in time. We begin this chapter with a small number of case studies, to illustrate some of the possible patterns of provision and to show the complex web of services over time. Then we focus on aphasia services, considering a range of evidence about services provided by speech and language therapists, both within the NHS and outside it, education service provision and services provided by voluntary organizations.
