ABSTRACT

Recent inelastic electron scattering work1,2) has revealed large transverse cross sections for some odd pa-rity transitions in p-shell nuclei at momentum transfers q<0.6 fm−1. Thus the otherwise in that q-range still es-tablished3) low q-limit 1\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$$B(E\lambda ,q) \to ({K^2}/{q^2})B(C\lambda ,q)$$\end{document} does not hold for those transitions. This indicates (a) a “non-collective” transition, and (h) the importance of transverse and/or magnetization current terms in the trans-verse electric matrix elements. We have used the particle-core coupling model to describe low lying positive parity states of 13C and 9Be, and to study the q-dependance of inelastic form factors. More... »
