ABSTRACT

Alcohol oxidase (MOX), a major peroxisomal protein of methanol- utilizing yeasts, has been shown to possess two different forms of flavine adenine dinucleotide, natural FAD and so called modified FAD (mFAD). A comparison of homogeneous preparations of MOX purified from different yeast strains revealed significant differences in the ratios of FAD and mFAD incorporated into the apoenzyme (1–3).
