ABSTRACT

At the present time, vitreous materials are recognized as the most favorable forms for high activity wastes. Studies have been underway for many years in the USSR on the properties and storage behavior of silicate glasses having many compositions and activities up to 104 Ci/ℓ. We briefly review here some studies of the chemical, thermal and radiation stability of these glasses and glasslike products. More... »
