ABSTRACT

This review focuses on recent aspects of the photo-and radiation chemistry of DNA model compounds. Similarities have been observed in the mode of action of ionizing radiation (direct and indirect effects) and far-UV light as well as of various types of photodynamic agents on purine and pyrimidine DNA components.
