ABSTRACT

Erythrocytes have been proposed and utilized as carriers for drugs, enzymes and pharmacological agents.1–13 Carrier erythrocytes have the capacity to enhance drug efficacy, extend the pharmacological life span of the drug, and reduce toxic side effects. Hypotonic dialysis has been used to prepare carriers that have a high percentage of encapsulation and cell recovery, and a normal survival when they are reinjected into the animal.1,2 More... »
