ABSTRACT

Natural polymers, such as gelatin, sepharose, carrageenan, cellulose, albumin, are worldwide used either as carrier for biocatalyst immobilization or as stabilizing agent for preventing thermal deactivation. However, these materials possess poor mechanical properties, low temperature tollerance and reduced resistance to microbial attack and, consequently a large industrial utilization is unexpected.
