AUTHORS ABSTRACTA squeezed vacuum is generated by squeezed light with a bandwidth much larger than the natural linewidth of the atom. Gardiner1 studied the decay of two-level systems in such a vacuum. To a good approximation, he found that the Maxwell-Bloch equations are modified simply by having different in-phase and in-quadrature relaxation rates. Resonance fluorescence and semiclassical multiwave mixing have been studied in such a vacuum.2,3 More... »
