ABSTRACT

Marrow transplantation has been used with increasing frequency over the past several years for the treatment of refractory leukemia. In theory, marrow transplantation should allow a greater cell kill to be achieved with irradiation and chemotherapy, since marrow toxicity can be obviated. In addition, the transplantation of immunologically competent allogeneic marrow could theoretically be of benefit in eradicating residual leukemic cells immunologically (1,7). More... »
