ABSTRACT

Since publication in 1983 of an evaluated compilation of electron swarm data in electromagnetic gases, the JILA Data Center has completed two reviews on data describing heavy particle collisions; i.e., one on proton impact ionization in gaseous targets and another on charge transfer of hydrogen ions and atoms with metal vapors. The Data Center is currently involved in several projects concerning electron impact excitation. To complement this work, a data base for both bibliographic and numerical data. has been designed, and entry of cross-sections collision strengths, reaction rates, and swarm parameters into the data base has begun. Planned projects include an evaluated compilation of data describing electron collisions with small molecules. More... »
