AUTHORS ABSTRACTThe causes of the complex behavior typical of hybrid systems are multifarious and are commonly explained in the literature using paradigms that are mainly focused on the connections between time-driven and hybrid systems. In this entry, we recall some of these paradigms and further explore the connections between discrete event and hybrid systems from other perspectives.
