ABSTRACT

We have taken conversion electron Massbauer spectra to Fe—Mn alloys wan 7.5, 10.5 and 13.7 wt.% Mn. that allowed us to obtain the relative fractions of the different iron environments in the bcc structure. We compare these populations with those obtained from /lonte Carlo simulations. The magnetic interactions between Fe—Fe, Fe—Mn and Mn—Mn atoms have been modeled using an lsing-type Hamiltonian in a 3D bcc lattice with periodic boundary conditions. The simulations were performed using a Metropolis algorithm to determine the jump probzability of Mn atoms. More... »
