ABSTRACT

This article deals with a lost sales perishable inventory model with renewal demands and exponential lead times, in which orders are placed at every demand epoch with variable order quantity so as to take the inventory position back to its maximum level S. The items are supplied on at a time with mean rate proportional to the total amount on order. The techniques of semi-regenerative process are employed to obtain the steady state operating characteristics. The problem of minimizing the long-run expected cost rate is discussed with numerical examples. More... »
