ABSTRACTSamples and fractions of a membrane-forming polymer, poly (1-trimethylgermyl-1-propyne) (PTMGP), were studied by methods of molecular hydrodynamics in cyclohexane in the molecular weight range 4 < M x 10-4 < 170. Molecular-weight dependencies of the hydrodynamic characteristics were established and analysed. On the basis of them the equilibrium rigidity of PTMGP chains was evaluated. The influence of volume effects on the size of macromolecules is discussed. A comparison is made with the results published for molecules of poly(1-phenyl-1-propyne) and poly(1-trimethylsilyl-1-propyne). More... »
