ABSTRACT

The present invention relates to a method for increasing the efficiency of differentiating human pluripotent stem cells into blood progenitor cells, vascular endothelial progenitor cells, vascular endothelial cells, and vascular smooth muscle cells. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method for differentiating human pluripotent stem cells using a medium to which selenium is added. The present invention can enable human pluripotent stem cells to be selectively differentiated into mesenchymal stem cells, and the present invention has the remarkable effect of differentiating human pluripotent stem cells into blood progenitor cells, vascular endothelial progenitor cells, vascular endothelial cells, and vascular smooth muscle cells with high efficiency. Therefore, the present invention can be expected to significantly contribute to the development of a cell therapy for cardiovascular diseases or a cell therapy for hematodyscrasia using human pluripotent stem cells.
