ABSTRACT

A mixed-reality system is provided for intelligent virtual object interaction. The system comprises a plurality of real-world objects, 116 provided in a real-world environment each comprising a distinguishable identifier, and at least one first sensor adapted to capture and output real-time image data. The system further comprises a processor device, having installed application software, adapted to receive and process said real-time image data so as to assign a plurality of virtual objects in a virtual-reality environment to respective said predetermined identifier of each one of said plurality of real-world objects. Each one of said plurality of virtual objects is associated with a predetermined set of attributes defining at least one function. The system further comprises a display device operably coupled to said processor device and adapted to display real-world content superimposed with augmented-reality content and wherein said plurality of virtual objects are interactable in the virtual-reality environment and in the real-world environment. Furthermore virtual objects are operably coupled in the virtual reality environment when their virtual boundaries intersect, in this way the system may be used to simulate for example electric circuits.
