ABSTRACT

The present invention provides solution to the problem involved in preparation of metal nanosponges using templates and polymers. The instant invention is successful in providing a simple, template free single step process for the preparation of metal nanosponges having porous low density and high surface area. These metal nanosponges were found to be good self-supported substrates for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) and have shown significant anti-bacterial activity. More... »
