ABSTRACT

The invention relates to a method of measuring the discharging state (D) of a stack, defined as the ratio between the capacity provided by the cell and its rated capacity. The method according to the invention includes measuring a first internal impedance (Z1) of the stack at a first frequency (f1) and a second internal impedance (Z2) of the battery at a second frequency (f2) and determining the argument (a12) of the difference (Z12) of the internal impedances (Z1, Z2), the argument (a12) thus found being representative of the discharge state (D) of the stack. This method may advantageously be used to test quickly, accurately and nondestructively batteries for portable devices, such as electronic watches, to ensure the good condition of the battery before its introduction into the device .
