ABSTRACT

The invention relates to a method for determining a position of a in a surrounding region (6) of a motor vehicle (1) object (7) arranged in a three-dimensional world coordinate system (8), in which the following steps can be carried out:
– Providing a the object (7) has a first image (9) and a the object (7) and second image (10) in an image sequence by means of a camera (3) of the motor vehicle (1),
– Determining a first characteristic pixel (i1) from the object (7) in the first image (9) and a second characteristic pixel (i2) from the object (7) in the second image (10),
– Transforming the in a two-dimensional image co-ordinate system present first characteristic pixel (i1) in the three-dimensional world coordinate system (8) as the first beam (v1) in a two-dimensional image coordinate system and of the present second characteristic pixel (i2) in the three-dimensional world coordinate system (8) as a second beam (v2),
– Determining a direction perpendicular to the first beam (v1) , and to the second beam (v2) aligned straight connecting line (w),
– Determining a center point (p) of the straight connecting line (w) as the position of the object (7) in the surrounding region (6).
