Oncogene proteins

DESCRIPTION

Oncogene proteins are proteins encoded by oncogenes (dysregulated or activated genes) and have a potential to cause cancer. Transcription factors, kinases and growth factors are considered oncogene proteins as they are generically involved in signalling systems leading to cell growth, survival, differentiation and programmed cell death (apoptosis).
