Fatty alcohols
DESCRIPTIONFatty alcohols are lipid small molecules that consist of a terminal hydroxyl (OH) group and a long carbon chain. They are the reduced forms of fatty acids in which the carboxylic acid has been reduced to give a primary alcohol. They are derived from natural fats and oils and can sometimes be unsaturated or branched.
