"description": "Archive of Applied Mechanics serves as a platform to communicate original research of scholarly value in all branches of\u00a0theoretical and applied mechanics,\u00a0i.e., in solid and fluid mechanics, dynamics and vibrations. It focuses on continuum\u00a0mechanics in general, structural mechanics, biomechanics, micro- and\u00a0nano-mechanics as well as hydrodynamics. In particular, the following topics are emphasised: thermodynamics of materials, material modeling, multi-physics,\u00a0mechanical properties of materials, homogenisation, phase transitions, fracture and damage mechanics, vibration, wave propagation experimental mechanics as well as machine learning techniques in the context of applied mechanics.
New analytical, numerical and experimental methods suited\u00a0to research in the above mentioned subjects are welcome. Manuscripts reporting results obtained with\u00a0established methods,\u00a0without\u00a0contributing\u00a0to scientific knowledge, are not\u00a0encouraged.
Archive of Applied Mechanics was founded as \u201cIngenieur-Archiv\u201d in 1929 (Vol. 1) by R. Grammel. The title was changed to \u201cArchive of Applied Mechanics\" in 1991.
