"description": "Strategies in Trauma and Limb Reconstruction is a peer-reviewed open access journal published under the brand SpringerOpen. It\u00a0is dedicated to surgeons, allied medical professionals and researchers in the field of orthopaedics and trauma. The scope of the journal is to discuss the fields of skeletal injury, and the complications thereof, congenital and acquired limb deformities and deficiencies, and orthopaedic-related infection, together with their surgical and non-surgical treatments.
The journal publishes original articles, reviews, case reports, descriptions of new or recognised treatment techniques, forum discussions of clinical scenarios and relevant correspondence. It aims to provide a widely accessible source of useful information to practitioners in the field through the problem- or technique-based approach of published articles. It will serve as a portal for dissemination of detailed descriptions of decision and surgical pathways, operative technique, and pre- and post-operative strategies to improve patients\u2019 care. Its availability online at http://www.springerlink.com makes it a convenient source for continuing medical education.
Strategies in Trauma and Limb Reconstruction operates a single-blind peer-review system, where the reviewers are aware of the names and affiliations of the authors, but the reviewer reports provided to authors are anonymous. During the peer review process, submitted manuscripts go through one or more revision stages leading up to acceptance or rejection. The journal is published as an open access journal, which provides free access to its articles to anyone, anywhere!
For readers: All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution licence. You can read, redistribute and reuse the articles for free, as long as you cite the authors of the original work properly.
For authors: By publishing with open access you can keep the copyright. The open access fees (article-processing charges) for this journal are kindly sponsored by the British Limb reconstruction Society. Authors can publish in the journal without any additional charges.
