ABSTRACT

As an important intermediate in organic synthesis, indole and its derivatives are widely present in natural products and pharmaceutically active molecules. Due to the significant physiological activity of its structures, it becomes an important precursor of design and development of new drugs. In recent years, many methods have been developed in transition-metal-catalyzed C-H functionalization of indoles. Among them, most of known methods are focused on selective functionalization of indole at C2 and C3 positions. The research project will solve the problem that how to functionalize indole at C4 and C7 positions with high selectivity. By installing a directing group at C1 or C3 position, the C-H activation can occur at indole C4-C7 positions with high selectivity in the presence of transition-metal catalysis. The directing group should be easy to introduce and removal from the substrates and low cost. Through the above research, the establishment of an efficient way to construct chemical bonds at indole C4-C7 positions, provide important tools for indole alkaloid synthesis and modification.
