ABSTRACT

INCT NANOFARMA represents an important strategy for the already consolidated association of skills of several universities in Brazil in the field of nanotechnology applied to medicine and cosmetics, which works in the development of projects related to obtaining nanocarriers for various molecules with biological activity, for their application in therapies where nanotechnology can add therapeutic values, to promote the development of techniques and processes for the production, characterization and evaluation of these products, as well as the understanding of chemical and biological aspects (mechanistic studies of the interaction of these systems with tissues / cells and toxicology ) involved in obtaining and using these drugs. INCT NANOFARMA focuses on Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology, on transdisciplinary aspects of the material. It will add technical knowledge and expand the possibilities of innovation between Universities and the company. Research and projects related to INCT NANOFARMA platforms will be developed to seek understanding of the different aspects involved in the science of nanotechnology-based drugs. The INCT NANOFARMA researchers through their projects, employees and laboratories will act in a more specific way in a certain platform, but will permeate others, showing the articulation of the group in the main research themes of this proposal. The INCT NANOFARMA has 49 researchers, involving 14 universities (USP SP and RP, UFRGS, UFRJ, UFMG, UFPE, UFOP, UFSC, UNESP, UFSM, UFG, UNB, UNISO, UFPe), a foundation (FUNED) and Extensive coverage in the national territory, with the participation of 08 Brazilian states (SP, RS, RJ, MG, SC, DF, GO, PE). In this formation, INCT NANOFARMA covers 4 regions of Brazil, namely Southeast, Northeast, Midwest and South, which highlights the institutional and national coverage of the group. INCT NANOFARMA also involves 07 foreign researchers of renowned knowledge in the field of Nanomedicine. These researchers already have scientific interactions with INCT NANOFARMA, thus emphasizing the international reach and articulations of groups internationally. It adds up to 08 staff consultants and 05 abroad. All of them have recognized recognition in the area of Nanotechnology in Brazil and abroad. INCT NANOFARMA aims to advance scientific and technological development in Nanotechnology Pharmaceuticals, a knowledge-based area, with the objective of enabling technological platforms in two strategic areas (health and nanotechnology) to obtain innovative medicines for the business sector through an approach transdisciplinary. Thus, INCT NANOFARMA will contribute to the resolution of national problems related to drug development. Strategically, the project will develop technological proposals based on the therapeutic benefits that nanotechnology can offer to drug administration. In this context, INCT NANOFARMA also aims to develop internationalization, transfer of knowledge to the business sector (public and private) and community activities, besides acting as articulator of research networks and nucleation of new groups in nanotechnology area of nanotechnology based drugs .
