ABSTRACT

The objective of this project is to develop Chinese Strategy and Roadmap of Nanotechnology and Nanomanufacturing through literature survey, statistical model development and international collaboration. With the aim of catalyzing the progress in the emerging field of nanotechnology and nanomanufacturing, the project will facilitate interactions between local and international scientists through various dialogues and international collaborations. By developing greater insights into the state-of-the-art, the project will identify the main challenges and promising future new industry of nanotechnology and nanomanufacturing in China. Through the well-developed roadmap, the project will not only help to speed up scientific research, innovation and technological development in nanotechnology and nanomanufacturing, but also provide a critical thrust in growing, upgrading and transforming many traditional industrial sectors to greatly improve the global competitiveness and capability of the Chinese economy. It is envisioned that this project will deliver a Chinese strategy and roadmap of nanotechnology and nanomanufaturing with global impact and sustainability for a long-term economic development of China.
