ABSTRACT

The project is based on needs within the healthcare and transport sectors uncovered in earlier projects and cooperation. Within healthcare there is a great need of tracking patients, equipment and material such as blood and medicines and to collect various data from these. There are similar needs within the transport sector. These needs are addressed with an IoT infrastructure developed by Sony Mobile in cooperation with Lund University / MAPCI. The system supports the AllSeen/AllJoyn framework and enables wireless positioning and data collection of/from things tagged with a small, low cost Bluetooth Low Energy device (tag). In volume they can be produced at a few dollars. These tags are connected to the cloud through mobile nodes, ordinary mobile phones, when they are within range. The technology is today running as a prototype in labs at Sony Mobile and MAPCI. Two full scale pilots will be run together with Skåne University hospital; one at the emergency for analysis and optimization of patient flow and one at the blood /drug central for tracking and to secure the cold chain. Together with Bring a food transport pilot will be run, also for positioning and measurement of temperature and other properties, among other things for IKEA´s export of food. Customization and service development is done together with Sony Mobile, KnowIt AB and Elastic Mobile AB, which also are potential commercialisation partners. SP contributes with competence from several verticals and Malmö Högskola with competence and experience from the Dynahmat project. More... »
