ABSTRACT

The college entrance examination system is the key system of the allocation of resources for higher education in China. The reform practice and theoretical argument of college entrance examination mode have never stopped. This study focuses on the impact of several key policy dimensions that can be selected in the Chinese college entrance examination system on the quality of matching between students and universities. These key policy dimensions include the timing of volunteer reporting (pre-test or post-test assessment, knowledge reporting), the introduction of parallel volunteer, etc., matching quality is mainly from the perspective of efficiency and equity to be measured. This paper applies the theory of school choice mechanism to the specific environment of Chinese college entrance examination system, combined with some theoretical progress in the country, the establishment of empirical hypothesis, through the actual and experimental data collection and analysis, Evaluate the matching results of the existing admission systems. This research is one of the earliest empirical research on the college entrance examination system by using the theory of school choice mechanism. One of the few empirical studies on the school choice mechanism in the world will also provide unique policy suggestions for the reform of the college entrance examination system and may promote the school Mechanism theory to further develop.
